SARAH MATYE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Born and raised in Charlevoix, Sarah has spent her career in the nonprofit sector and has extensive experience in fundraising, grant writing and nonprofit management. She received a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University, and a graduate certificate in nonprofit leadership from Grand Valley State University.

 

In 2014, Sarah and her husband returned to Northern Michigan to raise their two children close to family and friends and in a community they love. Since then, Sarah has become involved in many local organizations, including board member of the Rayder Enrichment Foundation, Recreation Advisory Committee member for the City of Charlevoix, and the founding member of the Women Who Care Charlevoix Giving Circle. 

 

Sarah is extremely passionate about the Circle’s mission and impact in the community. She takes pride in helping to create a community hub that brings local artists and art lovers together, and provides new, creative opportunities for locals and visitors of all ages.

Erika Kilkenny

Administrative Assistant

Erika is a graduate of Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI where she earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Fine Arts.

She also spent a significant amount of time living and working in Marquette, MI, Denver, CO, and Richmond, VA. 

She has over 15 years experience in office management, marketing, web and social media development and management as well as communications and & customer service.

Erika grew up in Charlevoix and is extremely passionate about our community.  She loves spending time on the trails and beaches around northern Michigan with her husband Patrick and their two daughters.

Laura Kelly
Exhibit Coordinator

Laura received her Art Education degree from Appalachian State University and her master’s degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. Her professional background includes over 20 years of experience in teaching art and technology, planning and implementing programs and events, marketing, and communications. She also has more than 12 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, including the Charlevoix Waterfront Art Fair Committee.

 

Laura grew up in Charlevoix and returned with her husband in 2005 to raise their 4 children. Prior to joining Charlevoix Circle of Arts as staff, Laura served two terms on the Board of Directors, chaired several committees, and served as Board Secretary. Her knowledge and passion for CCA’s mission are a great asset in her role in helping to plan, implement and oversee the exhibitions and sales gallery.

Mary Duggan

Gallery & Office Assistant

Mary grew up in a military family and lived in Germany and Texas. From a young age she was interested in creating art, and art history. Her parents took her and her 5 siblings to see many important historical artworks while growing up in Europe. She moved to Northern Michigan in her early twenties. She worked in the hospitality industry until becoming a full-time artist 5 years ago.

 

Mary enjoys teaching and watching others develop their creativity. She is a fiber artist and is best known for her felted creations. She is excited to be part of an organization that helps others develop a passion for the arts.

 

Mary lives and works in Charlevoix. She spends her free time going on adventures with her daughter to area parks and beaches.
